FAQ

Fly Free Zone Collars & Leg Bands

  • What happens if they get wet?
Water will cause dilution, which means they will not last as long. It is recommended to remove collars & leg bands when bathing or excessive water is present.

  • Can they "break away"?
Yes, they are very safe, and will "break away", yet durable enough to stay in place and not over tighten.

  • How long will they last?
Up to two months, under normal conditions.

  • What sizes do they come in?
They are a one size fits all.

  • What cautions should be taken?
Do not use on sick or convalescing horses. Keep it out of reach of children. Do not allow animals to chew on band. Remove collar at first sign of irritation.

  • Is the all-natural formula really all-natural?
Yes it is! It consists of Citronella, Phenethyl-Propionate and Cottonseed oil.

  • What is Phenethyl-Propionate?
It is a natural ingredient found in breads, cheeses and rice.

GEL-EZE Under Bandage

  • How easy are they to use as an under bandage?
Very easy! Hold one end of the GELEZE against the leg and wrap the gel sheet around. Finish by wrapping a polo bandage to hold in place.

  • Can the under bandage be used as a non-slip pad?
Yes! Many riders are truly amazed and extremely pleased how well this under bandage acts as a non-slip pad.

  • Is the gel a solid or liquid?
    It is a solid.

  • Can they be frozen or heated?
Both. They can be put in the freezer, fridge, or ice cold water, for a cold Compress. For a hot compress, soak in hot water.

  • When frozen do they become hard like ice?
Absolutely NOT! They are completely pliable.

  • How long do they stay cold?
Depending on surrounding temperatures, they should stay cold up to 30 min.
  • How long will they last?
They will last indefinitely, as long as they are not ripped or torn.

  • Can they tear or rip easily?
If cut with a knife, finger nails, or other sharp edged items they will. Do not use finger nails between the perforations to stretch and try to tear or rip, cause they will! ( don't laugh, this has been tried) If used like any other item with care and attention, this can be avoided.

  • Can they become stretched out and lose shape?
-Being that they are pliable they hold their shape very well.

  • Can they be cut to fit?
Cutting to fit is not necessary. But you can cut along the center solid line if you find it necessary. Do not cut along the perforations.

  • Will they stay in place?
Yes, once you have them in place and wrapped properly with a polo bandage they will not over tighten or loosen.

  • Will they pull hair or stitches?
No, the GELEZE are safe to use over injuries without sticking or pulling.
